I was super excited when Ami asked me to do her portriats AND her family's portraits.

Her family is good friends with my family, and I see them often when they come into my work for Chiropractic appointments with my dad. A few weeks ago, Ami and I got together and did some gorgeous portraits of her! Be sure to check those out!

Ami and her family are good friends with my family, and I was thrilled when she came to me wanting to do 1940-50's glamor shots! I wasn't sure how we were going to do it, but I looked up a bunch of famous actor glamour shots.

It ended up working out beautifully! Her face is just the perfect classic look for these kinda of pictures! It was all Ami. She knew just how to pull that romantic love face, with the dreamy eyes.

They turned out wonderful!

Channing turning One

Channing, my nephew, has been my little baby model since he was born! It's crazy he is growing up so fast and already turning one! He has the funnest personality! He just started walking a few weeks ago, and can even say a few words. He is sooo smart. Love this big guy to pieces!

They are mixture of bright blue and sea foam green. So clear and declaring! She is the sweetest girl and has two other sisters with eyes just as beautiful and bright! Wedding at LDS Mesa Temple

Such a beautiful temple! And it was a beautiful wedding! The bride and groom are both so sweet, and I am so happy I got to be a part of their wedding! Blake is actually my uncle and I'm so excited to finally see him get married! :) I am also excited because this is my first official wedding photoshoot! The wedding day was perfect. So warm and bright. All the pictures turned out amazing!

The "C" Family

When I first moved here to St. George, Apryl was my Young Women's leader, and I would often babysit her kids. I have lots of fun memories with them! The kids were so little back then... it's crazy to see them kids all grown up now - what a gorgeous family! They were all so patient and pretended like they didn't like getting their pictures taken, and then they'd whip out these model poses for me!

Apryl and her oldest daughter (in these first pictures below) are two of a kind! They both are so sweet and spunky! They are the only girls in this family of six. Everyone in the family is very adventurous and are into sports, extreme biking and horse back riding. We made sure to get a few pics with their cool bike too. The silhouette pictures (at the bottom of this post) ended up being one of my many many favorites from this shoot. So even though I won't be babysitting these kids anymore, I am sure glad I got to at least hang out with them for a while and try not to think about how old I'm getting! :) I love you guys! And thank you Apryl!

Cousin Photoshoot! The two boys are my nephews and the three girls are their cutie patootie cousins (from other side of their family). They have so much fun together but live so far apart! I was thrilled to take their pictures! It was so much fun and with these cute kids.... how could these pictures not turn out anything less than ADORABLE!!

Mykah Jewel is the newest addition to the Clawson Clan! My little niece was born on February 3rd and recently we took her 3 month old pics! She is stinkin darling! Before she was born, I took pictures of Linzie and her pregnant belly, and then I actually photographed the birth! So I have been taking pictures of this girl for a long time!

My heart hurts over how precious these photos are! I love them!

California Dreamin'

So for the past few days, Dallan and I have been in California! We went to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Huntington Beach! We had so much fun! We went with Dallan's mother, sister (+ her husband and her four kids), brother (+ his wife and baby), and other brother! Is that confusing? Haha The person on the beach below is Dallan's mother holding her newest grand-daughter wrapped in a blanket! We are so happy we got to go on this trip and we took probably a million photos! We will definitely never forget it! Enjoy a few of the pics from the trip!

Bountiful Temple

Dallan and I took a trip up to Bountiful for a few days last weekend and the night before we left, it was snowing, and I wanted to drive by the temple and take a few pictures. The snow ended up looking very pretty, and the picture ended up looking pretty artistic! It is a very pretty temple, and sits on a hill overlooking the city. It's beautiful!

Such a beautiful family! I went to school with Alyssa, and I am good friends with her mom Jacqueline. They are such a fun family! I love them! I'm sad that they will no longer be living in St. George, as some of them are moving to far away to freezing cold Michigan, one is going on a mission, and the rest are living up North. But I'm glad I get to see them while I can!

Shelley is another friend that I had not seen in a very long time! We were best friends in high school! She has two kids that are each cute as a button! I am so happy to have my Shelley back!
One thing that is so cute about Shelley is that she has the cutest dimples! And now both of her kids have dimples too. How adorable is that?!

Again, I didn't take this photo, but I did all of the following edits using Adobe Photoshop CS4

Edit #1
For this edit, I did curves, vibrance, and exposure layers. That was it! I just brightened it up, pumped more color in, and added more contrast. This photo is so pretty, it's easy to make it look good.

Edit #2

After I finished the picture above, I added a hue/saturation layer and I turned down the saturation. I added a vignette layer, and added some more contrast. It was very simple! When the photo is good, the editing is easy. :)

I decided to do one more edit....

Cropped it, then sharpened the image. Added curves, vibrance, and exposure layers. :)

Carnival

It's June! Here in sunny St. George, Utah, the weather has been over 100 degrees the past few days. Summer is officially here! I am so excited for summer.... swimming, watermelons, tanning, smell of sun tan lotion, sounds of children laughing, flip-flops, sunglasses, popsicles, family and friends, barbeques, rodeos, corn on the cob, county fairs, cotton candy, art festivals, picnics in the parks.... I love it all!!

A couple months ago I was with my mom driving through Mesquite, and they had a carnival going on. My mom, being a photographer and understanding the need to pull the car over at any chance of a photo opportunity, agreed to take the exit off the freeway. The sun was just setting so I was able to get some pretty cool pictures. These are for you to enjoy and start feeling the summer fun comin on! :)

And here are my edits:

Edit #1: Duplicated layer, soft light, 50% opacity. Played with the curves layer. Added two hue/sat layers to make left side pink, and right side blue. Added text. Brighten faces, smoothed blotches.

Edit #2: I used multiple layers of curves to make the dark areas really black, and the white areas really bright.

Edit #3: I added a cement texture, but erased most of it off the babies faces.

Jami played tennis all through high school, so we decided to take a few pictures so we could put one on the announcement. The first picture with her in different places all over the scene was her idea :)

This is my sister in law Linzie and her friend Erin. They run this business together called "Swexy. Making Sweat Sexy." They are stretchy bands that you can slip onto the top of your pants to accessorize your outfit while working out or while you are out and about and want to accessorize! They have waistbands, headbands, and wristbands in adult and children sizes.They are stretchy, don't wrinkle, and, of course, sexy! The pictures turned out awesome! Thanks ladies!
